How far off of the surface of the water do you have your lights?

Do you keep SPS?

Do you keep LPS?

Any issues with bleaching, browning with either?

I have a 12 x 39W fixture and have been able to keep LPS colors pretty vivid.....started keeping SPS and am lost on where to go with my lights in terms of where I should keep them off of the water surface.

My current bulb combo follows (front to back)

ATI Blue+
ATI Blue+
ATI Purple Pro
ATI Blue+
ATI Aquablue Special
ATI Blue+

Standard 125 gallon tank.

Thanks in advance.

You should have no problem keeping Sps in the upper part of the tank. In my 55g I had Sps in upper 3rd of the tank with no problem, no bleaching, no color loss or anything like that. Good luck

I have a 6x39watt t-5 over my 65 gallon tank. It sits about 5" off the top of the tank and I have a ton of sps in the upper 10-12" of the tank. No bleaching issues, excellent colors, and a ton of growth.

I have a 55 gallon tank with almost all sps and everything is doing great. I have a four bulb t5 aqualife fixture that I love. I have sps all over the tank including in the sand bed. This tank is over a year old and I have not lost a single peice of sps yet. My lights sit about three inches off the surface of the water. I run two blues and two 10,000k whites. Hope this helps you.
