So I think I need to drain my tank in order to get a damsel out. What are the pros and cons of that anyone ever tried it? I have a lot of corals and fish in there here's a pic

I believe the only coral that can't be out of the water is a sponge. They should all be fine, but you want to make them all close before the air touches them. I kinda swirl the water around them with my hands (frogspawn and GSP) The mushrooms should be fine.

If you can move them down to the sand and just drain down as far as you need to, I would probably try that first.

I would try a fish trap. I guess you could drain it down too just keep the water and then fill back up when don't. Corals won't be hurt out of water for a bit. But I'd still try fish trap first. You can even make one out of empty water bottle.

Form or function: Do you consider your rock work to be art or the platform for your coral?
