.25 is right there where it might be a little hard on the fish. If it goes higher a chemical or a water change will be in order...

Some people would say that ammonia will grow algae easier than nitrate so watch out there.

It is basically a quarantine tank right now so the available knowledge there will benefit you. Now you just have to wait for the nitrate to start climbing.

Also, I am not sure where you want to take this but a good appropriately sized skimmer and a vinegar dosing regimen may be considered.

So far fish are still alive. Ammonia is either .25 or zero. pH is still 8.2. Nitrites are zero and nitrates are 10.

It could be a false positive on the ammonia reading. Api kits have a hard time with very low range ammonia readings.

The API test kit can be checked with fresh saltwater made with RO/DI water. It should read zero, if not, original poster should get a new kit.
