I do have one question, do you use android or iPhone? This is relevant for troubleshooting another’s issues.Did you really just say that it is normal for a Wi-Fi device to not be able to find any SSIDs?
That is why I said that there is a difference in attitude towards this. Some are happy to work around the issue, but it doesn’t mean that the issue isn’t there. If that was the only problem then I agree; I wouldn’t switch to a different controller for that. However, that is just one of the network problems that I am having. Repeatedly dropping the connections, not reconnecting and only allowing updates to be saved once before having to close GHL connect and opening it up again to make further changes are enough for me to switch controllers.
No - it is not because its true.
Per definition still free - you do not pay extra for it.
Your choice - just do it
I have no degree in programming but I can read and my thinking is logical. I succeeded to do what you ask for
Its not true - My dashboard show the right name
Sincerely Lasse
What issue? They give you an input for your SSID, you input the SSID. Am I missing something here? How does this not function exactly as intended?
The only resolution is this case is to move you to another platform. Ticket closed!
Profilux does not search for networks. It does have WPS which means you would physically need to get up, walk to your router and enable it.My opinion is that the software is crappy. You can’t tell me that my opinion is wrong or that I don’t know what I am taking about as it is my opinion. Your opinion differs and that is fine, but it doesn’t mean you are right and I am wrong. I genuinely wish that I loved the software, but I don’t.
Once again, you’re only seeing what you want to see. In that screenshot of the dashboard, now go to the page on the actual Profilux screen (not any of the software) and post a photo of what that shows (which is what I was saying, but you’ve chosen to ignore).
They give you an option to ‘search for networks’. It doesn’t find any even though every other single Wi-Fi device I own can find it with no problem. Again, you’ve focused on that one issue (which has a quirk but does have a workaround) and ignored the other problems I am having; maybe you have workarounds for them too?
I use GHL connect on iPhone and GCC on PC.
I don’t want this to become even more of an argumentative thread; I was simply posting that my experience with the GHL software was not hugely positive. You won’t change my mind and I won’t change yours, so this is a fruitless discussion of which I will gracefully bow out.
Actually, went with the 20 pound!!
New and still not connected to wifi--i think it's trying to connect directly to Berlin...
German engineering at its finest!
Do you mean the in built screen that no other aquarium computers have? The one there you can do all configurations if all software and connections do not work?now go to the page on the actual Profilux screen (not any of the software)
This is funny - we have come to a point that fact does not matter - the most important is personal opinions - true or not does not matter. You do not need to prove your statement - just say - it is my opinion and all things are fine.My opinion is that the software is crappy. You can’t tell me that my opinion is wrong or that I don’t know what I am taking about as it is my opinion

We’ll… he actually is… apple has their Geniuses. GHL has their OraclesFinal points and then I’m gone from this thread.
Yes, the screen, which is a part of the GHL controller, the display contents of which are poorly software engineered in my opinion. How hard would it be to get that display to match the text description in GCC (or if that is too difficult from a tech perspective, just give me the option to rename it on the Profilux itself)? What other controllers have is not relevant to me but, again, you defend their poor software design as it doesn’t bother you. I use that screen frequently (by the way, the buttons don’t react particularly well either and, yes, I have tried to calibrate them) as trying to go through the software to activate the feed/maintenance modes is a pain.
The reason opinion is important is that you are not the oracle that determines fact. You have given the facts that your system works fine; I have stated facts explaining the issues I have with my system and the software design. Any statement of the overall perception of the software is opinion; I don’t expect you to accept that point of view as you clearly think that it is a fact that your are right and I am wrong.

Oh shucks, I was hoping I’d catch you before you left. I’m in the process of organizing a program to get aquarium controllers to those who are less fortunate. I know many would be greatly appreciative of your donation if you would be interested. You would need to cover the cost of shipping.Final points and then I’m gone from this thread.
I remember. I felt bloated that night but dang, I still looked good!Oh, you were that guy. I apologize, I didn't recognize the photo above because we were wearing masks that night:
You definitely know how to operate a big sludge hammer. LOL
Thank goodness, someone needs to do this. Better mark GHL's off the list though; the less fortunate won't be able to hire an IT specialist to get a GHL connected to wifi...Oh shucks, I was hoping I’d catch you before you left.
