That's the thing about reefing, not everyone can confess they had issues.
They happen to many of us.

Glad to see you didn't give up @i cant think

It sure is difficult keeping track. Im working on it!
I find that reefers don’t always mention the struggles they go through to get to where they are - I mean we have the “Ugly” Phase of a reef but honestly sometimes that’s the nicest time a reef has!
In my threads I often try to keep things as they are, real and issues that occur are rarely not documented.

There's a lot of times i should have documented something. I never realized that information might have helped another. Being able to show things happen, and its worth fighting back. There's a lot to enjoy.

I honestly feel that admitting that we’ve had setbacks and how we deal with them helps everyone including ourselves, as I find talking about it cathartic and a way to process. Ironically the impetus to set the 90 as a reef came from tragedy, when I lost 3 discus, 2 gold Nugget Plecos and a handful of other fish when I had a pump failure that caused the water to go anoxic. I was heartbroken but the reef has risen from the ashes like Phoenix to what it is today.

Well this is annoying, I’m hoping I’ve gotten it in time but my orange hammer colony had BJD. I removed a dead head and a dying head in hopes to stop it. None of the other corals seem to have it so tomorrow I’ll do a good water change, cleaning the skimmer out and the pumps - I’m hoping to at some point do a citric acid bath on the pump in the display for better flow. Fingers are crossed for the recovery of that coral.

And on better news, look! @Miami Reef the blue tips are back. After months of pure green, finally some purple/blue has occurred.

Yesterday I thought this tank looked good enough to photograph so… Here’s some photos of the coral (and clam) and an FTS.
Blue Maxima Clam - Tridacna maxima

Red Goni - Goniopora sp.
IMG_0273.jpeg

Blue Tip Stag - Acropora sp.

Blueberry Shortcake - Acropora microclados

Glitterbomb Goni - Goniopora sp.

Plasma Torch - Euphyllia glabrescens

And, the FTS.

Been a while again… I need to get back to regular posts!

Here’s 2 of my rarest nano fish I’ve ever kept!

Escenius pulcher and Nemateleotris lavandula! This tank has been undergoing some neglect (Mostly because I find it thrives best when I leave it alone and almost forget about it) so I’ve not gotten many photos at all recently. I’m hoping to get some more on Sunday though!

I’ve done some slight rearranging with the goniopora as I had frags that were hidden and my Glitterbomb was knocked off its rock.
So, here is my small goniopora garden - Plus a new Goniopora colony and frag I haven’t shown off yet.
The frag is almost black with the purple tips, it’s stunning. And the colony has 3 frags on it, one is black stemmed with purple tips, then next to it is a much more yellow gold ‘frag’ and behind them is a gorgeous red gold piece.

This photo shows off the colony so much more.

And then here is my older colony - The stunning “Orange” (Actually a bright red in person).

Hear me out, I’m not addicted, I just see them and want them all…

Had a family member down near AAC (a fairly well known shop in the UK) and got 2 stunning clams!

Amazing! How’s life treating you? Have you outgrown your brother yet? :)
Not quite!
I’m doing well with some set backs but overall going nicely. Got a nice new 5’ to expand the clam collection. Maybe I’ll grab a Hippopus soon…

Slowly extending already!

Cant tell which my favourite is but they’re both gorgeous. Hopefully once they’re the size of my larger one it’ll be even nicer.

Some photos of this tank tonight! These Gonis are perfect in colour when put with the clams as the main draws of colour! The Green clam got moved to the rock behind the main big Maxima as it gives him more room to grow out.

You think this orange filtered photo is bright?

What about this actually edited one!
IMG_0832.jpeg

This really does show how even just one small edited thing can make a coral go from one thing to another.
