Just thinking here...
I've got a big enclosed patio, concrete floor with carpet over it. There's a pool table, dart board, a TV, stereo, pop-a-shot basketball game.. You know, a party room. It's kinda temperature controlled, not quite as limited as a typical house... temps in there range from 60f to 80f, depending on season, but it never gets out of that range.
What if a guy were to take something like this:
That's 96" x 84" x 28", about 750 gallons. Set that on a cinder block foundation to get it up to a reasonable 'top down' viewing height, mount a 100g rubbermaid tote over the back of it, with a pump feeding up into the overhead sump, gravity draining back to the display.
Build a bar top surround, hang four or so Kessels way high overhead. Couple inches of sand, a few natural looking rock bommies. Fill it with angels, tangs, triggers, maybe a puffer, some fast growing, low light softies. Mushrooms, gsp, corky gorgonian... Xenia, even. Stuff that you wouldn't care much if the fishes were snacking on it. Some nice looking clams...
I'm thinking I could probably pull something like this off for a reasonable budget.
Opinions? Ideas? My current 150g peninsula isn't going anywhere... this idea may not either, just kinda thinking
