SCIENTIFIC NAME –Chaetodon tinkeri

COMMON NAME – Tinkers Butterflyfish

SIZE – 5.9" (15 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE – 75 US Gal. (284 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING – The Tinkers Butterflyfish consumes marine fish, crustacean flesh, mysid shrimp, and frozen preparations. Should be fed a minimum of 3 times per day.

REEF COMPATIBILITY – Eats tubeworms and may nip at soft corals, gorogonians, and large polyped stony corals.

CAPTIVE CARE – The Tinkers Butterflyfish readily accepts most aquarium foods, provided that it is maintained in suitable water quality and in a peaceful environment. This species spends most of its time out in the open, but should have several places to hide. This fish may quarrel with members of its own and closely related species. It is a deep reef fish and therefore prefers lower lighting (must be carefully acclimated to the intense lighting of reef tanks ) and cooler temperatures in the range of 70-75 F (21-24 C).
