tip(of the branch, not ball tip thing) of my pink tipped frogspawn turning green

Hey fellow reefers,

I noticed that the tip of my pink-tipped frogspawn has started turning green, and I'm a bit concerned. I've tried researching online, but I'm getting mixed information. Has anyone experienced this before? Could it be a sign of something wrong with my tank parameters or is it just a natural variation?

Some background: My tank is a well-established mixed reef, and all other coral seem to be doing fine. Water parameters are within the acceptable range, and I haven't introduced any new livestock recently.

UPDATE!!!!! my salinity was 1.30…
It was algae, not bjd…
figured out it was salinity when my monti starting dying, so I tested it today, it was 1.30, just did a 30-40% water change(nearly fainted lol…. I’m sick, from allergies ) but salinity is now 1.26

Careful with the rapid shift, that can cause more harm than good as some organisms are likely adjusted to the high salinity

Thinking it was maybe a 20% water change, the monti is healing up, froggy is opening, my urchin is now up and about, snail is up, clownfish no longer stressed, zoas are now opening, everything way better

Good lesson learned. When in doubt ALWAYS check parameters first.

Any idea how it got that high? Are you running an auto top off?

also i think it was alk spike
probably put too much salt into already "salty water"(1.027)(I run 1.025, and keeping EVERYTHING consistent, now just learning how to dose daily )
and yes, a small little pitcher and my hands
(no Im not, its an 11.4 aio tank from tideline)
