Is it true that there is no need to glue PVC where it connects to the sump bulkhead? That would be really convenient for maintenance, but it strikes me as a disaster waiting to happen. Just wanted to double check even though I did some searches before writing. I am using an external bean animal overflow and so far everything is glued up until it reaches the sump bulkhead. See attached photo.

Hmm. There are two different style bulkheads in the photo. The one on the right is a tiny bit more rubbery, and is much snugger then the two more ridged ones on the left. The looser ones still snug a little when the pipe bottoms out, but not nearly as much. I suppose I could swap them for the shinier, more rubbery type.

I took the Bulkheads out there and used a Snap in Bushing. That way I can lift up, the Down Pipe, when changing Filter Socks.
