Hi,
I have had a torch for about two weeks now that has been doing great. The heater was accidentally switched off while I was gone keeping the tank at 74-75F. Everything is fine besides my torch, it's a little lighter than usual and half of it is very closed. The heater has been back at its normal temp of 80 for the last day but the torch hasn't gotten much better. Will it take time or could there be a problem.
Thanks!

How long was the heater shut off? Probably just angry right now....but if it was too cold for a week or 2 it might need some time....photos would be good if you are not sure if it is ok still or not...

Just keep an eye on each head. If it is not doing well a torch can lose the tentacles in a particular head.

From your picture your torch still looks full with all heads having polyp tentacles.

It's not uncommon to lose one of the polyp's head tentacles for a torch. The rest can survive and unless you knew better the rest of the heads tentacles will cover up the lost polyps head.

Hammers are somewhat hardier than Torches.

Temp is one thing. Stress, could lose a single polyp head. No big deal.
but lps's need organics in the water column to stay healthy too.
You can't run parameters too strick as in a SPS only reef.

Read link: You see people saying bleaching from light. I say bleaching from low phos, nitrates, and organics are too low. The #11 post starts pointing it out the truth.
