I just got my tank up and running and plan to leave it to cycle for about 3 to 4 months. I have time to figure out the best method to maintain parameters.
I have been researching Triton and Cal reactors

Both methods seem easy enough

of course, the Cal reactor has a higher upfront cost but it seems that long term it cheap and less Maintenace to operate
Triton seems to work best with some type of fuge. I don't have on as of yet but plan to soon

Since my tank is at the beginning stages, I want to start either method from the beginning for stability

I am back and forth between the two and looking for advice/experience with both

Why these two?

I'm not sure I'd pick either of these two methods unless there were specific circumstances (like a very large tank with a CaCO3/CO2 reactor).. There are many, many good methods out there.

I summarize the pros and cons of most of them here:
