Pick a day of the week and keep your lights off. Don't just keep your lights off but try and keep the tank as dark as possible. Next day run your tank lights in their normal manner.

Let me know how your tank responds the next day.

Thanks

Surfn,

You are crazy!! Lol

One day without light will not hurt anything in your tank, just imagine what they go through during shipment.

Ok, I'll spill my beans. I've noticed that my corals are really full and plump the next few days after leaving the lights off. If anybody is looking to take pictures of their zoas this may help.

Just try it and let me know what happens.

I heard somewhere it' s not a bad idea to do that occasionally...it simulates a cloudy day!!

Someone hit the nail on the head!!! I know where you heard it from but I would like to hear your feed back on it.

Sounds like a good Idea but dont do it if you have a BTA in your tank in the position you like it. Otherwise he will move. It happened to me one time when I decided to refinish my canopy and all it took was one day of no lights and he moved :(. Thanks for posting that is a good point of cloudy days never taught of that.
