Out today we have had 5 days rain in a row . So when it stopped I was out flicking rock at the beech for free natural fish food

Those are some mighty fine amphipods you have there Sir!
Every rock I turned over they were all over the rocks. I got 150 to 200 in 15 min the beech is crawling with them when the tide goes out

Do you add them to your reef tank as well? I’m sure the temperature difference wouldn’t let them survive but they would still be a nutritious snack.

No just too the native tank
But as far as the reef tank I was not sure so I never put any in but like you say maybe a good food for the fish I have 2 common prawns in the reef from the native and they are loving it they are super clean up crew eating all the leftovers and c@@p

My oldest son collects freshwater amphipods for his tank and it amazing how they look exactly like their saltwater brothers and sisters.
Free food
Also going to order a white worm starter kit if I can keep them alive lol

Ya, I’ve thought about that as well, seems like a lot of extra work but I know they are very nutritious. Maybe after I see how it goes for you I’ll give it a shot as well.

You already have the white worms?
No I got mixed up going to put some amphipods in the reef tomorrow
Slowly heat them from cold to warm see how they go I know Paul b puts them in his reef. So I will have a go . On the white worm subject will order them sometime this week
