Hello all,
I have a 265g reef tank in Portugal that already had a huge amount of plagues ... in all of them I considered to take out the reef and give a break to the hobby.
But with the help and support of friends I always had overcome every single one of them and my reef is growing stronger by the day (or the plague)
dinos, dyctiota, valonia, aefw, ciano ... you name it ...
One of the last ones was bryopsis. I had a patch of about 20cm across my overflow. Kept removing by hand but one week after there it was again for me to take it out. since it was just on the overflow i didn't paid much attention until I saw Vibrant.
I decided to give it a try.
I have also a small frag system connected to the same SUMP that seems to behave as a totally different system which puzzles me.
So gave the first 23ml dose in the reef and literally the day after I didn't had bryopsis on the system. Water became extremely clear and some small patches of ciano I had started to recede. Three days after there were almost inexistente and yesterday, one week after, completely gone.
But the frag system ... a complete mantle that covered the full sandbed. So I decided: the second dose I will do it on the frag system instead of the display (even if they share the same water and sump)
Yesterday was that day and 8h after the dose I could finally see some sand ...
And today ... 24h after ...
well I will let the differences speak for themselves.
In this frag system I have also some patches of valonia and dyctiota (the siganus and naso are in the display) but so far I haven't seen any recess of those.
@UWC I am dosing 23ml weekly ... should I increase to 23ml two time a week? or to 46 weekly to see if valonia and dyctiota goes away? or keep the same dosing schedule?
@UWC and by the way. 1y after even with all my efforts I found some aefw again so eager for you to release the new product. Expel is on it's way already!
All the best,
Rui
