For me a coral has to look nice during the daytime lighting period, If under actinics it looks bettter then i'm even happier...
Totally agree.

My (subtle) point earlier is simply what we call "daylight" in our tanks (even be it a 14k MH by itself) is not equivalent to what corals look like under natural sunlight.

I'm usually not at home when my tank is in daytime mode, or just not looking at it.

It still looks pretty sweet during "daylight" just not as great.

I think Chopsie was talking about photoshopped pictures. I am against photoshop and refuse to alter my photos.

Its funny because some sellers/sponsors on here, WHO HAVE NOT POSTED IN THIS THREAD, use photoshop like crazy and people are all crazy about his/her corals. I've seen some in real life...I didn't get fooled.
I posted the screen shots earlier in this thread, and one seller had whole for sale for $2000. It must have gold in it.

I love photography and the hobby I also sell a few frags in the UK.
There is nothing at all wrong with using software on pictures.....the problem occurs with mis representation dishonesty in the name of a sale....

True. I think dishonesty comes from the coloration added to various online pictures to lure people of a "one of a kind" coral when its just a common piece :) Keeping the coral true to its actual colors is most important.

This is royal blue light.

Will you guys all get same color, absolutely not. Will different lighting/intensity and water parameter change the color? Yes! This is not a digitada. So if you are not on your SPS A game, reconsider the challenge.

Can 95% of people take a picture under royal blue lighting. No! So, all those crappy pics you see, there is a reason for it.

Can many of people take a pic in T-5, yes. That is not how this coral looks best.

Enjoy

Feel free to ask me questions. I have grown this 4 years now.

Sorry, I keep chopping the momas, so they dont get to grow to much. But.......they are happy. ( ;

OMG what LEDS are these under?
Are they easy to take care of? And lastly, if I buy one would they survive a 24 hour flight?

here's my purchase picture and one a cell pic from about 2 months after recovering from Browning out. Since that time of the last pic I'd say another 3 months has passed and looks almost identical to the purchase pics, glued to a rock now so until I finally get a fancy camera to take a good pic well only be for my eyes to enjoy ,an they do :) its a awesome coral bad pics and stressed frags make it seems not so much but I say its money well spent ;)
