My tank has been up and cycling for 15 days I used tetra quick start and microbacter quick cycle. I have live sand and live rock. I've been monitoring levels. Levels went up and Ammonia is at 0 now nitrite is at 5 and nitrite is at 40 this is current just now reading. On day eight my nitrates where 160 now at 40 nitrites are staying steady at 5 not budging. I want to add clowns to keep cycle going. I don't want to kill them or stress them out either. And more important I don't want to disturb the cycle but id like to keep it going without chemicals. I'm thinking of doing a 25% water change. Check level and make the decision to add clowns. Any comments are appreciated
Thank you in advance Richard Happy fish keeping.

Do the water change and add the fish. Test again and write down your measurements in a log book or your phone. Welcome to the hobby.

1. If you get corals, raise that light up. Right now its a lazer beam that will fry anything in the center.

2. You can add clowns. I always like to get a small booster bottle of bacteria (biospira is my favorite) to add with the fish as a just in case, but its probably not necessary.

3. I would do the water change.

4. Also, consider buying the fish pre-quarantined if you can't do so yourself.

It is more about the mounting height relating to light spread rather than the intensity setting as these lights are meant to be mounted a foot or two above the tank.
