They're good pumps. I have one, but don't think I want to get rid of it now. I was able to put it in my basement and pump water up to the living room in 1.5" pvc and had to throttle it back because the overflow couldn't handle that much flow. I don't know why they are not used much for saltwater. I had more trouble out of a small eheim and other pumps but never had trouble out of the Mag.
