Hi! Any idea what type of worm this is? My video is a little blurry, I know but it has two antennae at the front of its head and it moves pretty quickly. I caught it on my glass a couple days ago and before I could get my phone, it swam super fast, like a snake and dove into the sand head first. It’s certainly a polychaete of some sort as it is segmented but I don’t think I’ve seen anything move this fast. It sort of moves like a centipede when it’s not in a hurry.

Looks like it has a white “collar” on it to me, so Eunice sp. or Leodice sp. would be my guess at present:
white collars are found on a few different Eunicid worms (I know a few Eunice spp. and Leodice spp. for sure). These ones tend to be more predatory

Actually, it looks just like this guy that I found in another post here. So maybe a Dorvellid worm?

It’s possible- how many tentacles does it have on its head? Any chance of a close-up of the head/face?
I will definitely try to get one when I see it out again. They’re pretty small but I have only seen two every time I’ve looked at them. In a sort of hammer head shape.

Hoping this means that they are in fact decent CUC who only eat algae. :grinning-face-with-sweat:
I hope so, but there are so many possibilities... But many eunicid worms are harmless too
