I was fortunate that a fellow refer contacted me and asked if I was interested in purchasing his Tye Dye mushroom. Without any hesitation, I agree to purchase this beauty and had her shipped within a week.

I am truly amazed at how much red is on this shroom as well as a few spots of green.

Here is a photo I took straight out of the shipping box and acclimating.

And here is another Jawbreaker baby mushroom (left side) that arrived. She is about the size of a dime, possibly a nickel.

I participated in my first Live sale hosted by Legendary Corals. It was fun to join in and see which corals I would be able to pick up.

Here are the ones I was fortunate enough to get.

Here is a top down shot of a few corals.

And the other package had this tiny little Jawbreaker gem. Well, the size was about a nickel and every cm of her was beautiful.

I contacted a fellow and local R2R reefer to purchase one of his OG WWC Bounce shrooms. When he sent me this photo, I was too, too happy to add his shroom to my collection. Checkout how big those bubbles get. They are so much larger than that dice in hand.

My OG WWC Bounce is finally home. I took a nice 1.5hr drive up to Tracy to pick her up, but she was well worth the trip. Below is a photo of her acclimating.

And here she is two days later, looking all fluffy.

My "Three Amigos" Jawbreaker mushrooms arrived and they came with atleast 2 baby's each. It is definitely hard to pick my favorite out of the three. (Counter clockwise) The Big Mama on the bottom left has so much red coloration and the color pattern is amazing. The one on the bottom right is sweet too. She has over 6 green war scars throughout her cap and the one on top is has great red color markings too.

Photo of the Jawbreaker's acclimating.

Group shot after acclimating and relaxing on a frag rack before I glue them down to their homes on the sandbed.

Here's a photo of them opening up a little more. The Big Mama is definitely showing her dominance.

I found gold at my lfs, Neptune Aquatics. Luckily I visited to get some natural sea water for a water change. As I was walking up and down the aisles, I saw a quarter sized Jawbreaker with a nice, red circular pattern on the inner part of the cap.

Here she is in the lfs frag tank

And here she is sunbathing under my Kessil a350n

This question goes way back to when you first started. Why did you use eggcrate on the bottom of the tank? I haven't thought of it and am in the process of going from freshwater to salt so wondering about the benefits and cons of using it
Thanks

I used the egg crate to hold the rocks in place. I've owned a few goby's that love to dig and live under my rocks. So having the egg crate in place will hold the rocks steady and prevent them from moving around.

Cool just another question please. How deep is your sand bed? I want a gobie but weighing the pros and cons on a deep sand bed or not. I don't necessarily want 4 inches but at what depths will the gobies accept?
Thanks

1/12/16, this beautiful Great Grandma Tye Dye finally arrived. I've definitely been waiting for this beauty to grace my display with her unforgettable golden yellow base, splashes of Ferrari red and sprinkles of harlequin green.

This is how she looked while acclimating and being dipped

And here she is still getting used to her new environment. She is still a little closed up, but I can't wait to see her fully stretched out. That is a 1.5 - 1.75" frag disc she is sitting on.

I'm not at home to measure the sandbed, but I have a standard 40 Breeder that was purchased from Petco. The sand covers about 1" above the black bottom trimming.

It's great having fellow reefers in the area. I just picked up this little red Jawbreaker beauty. She measured in at 1 inch during transport and the acclimation process. I can't wait to see her fully stretched out to show off all that red.

If anyone is selling any JB's, just let me know so we can work out a deal.

Here are a few photos of this Jawbreaker straight from my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+.
