After nearly 4 years it’s time to tear down the reef & start over. My 250 was doing great but time to go bigger & say goodbye.

Always an exciting day but needless to say a great deal of work. A week long transfer of the livestock begins.
Day 1 started with the breakdown of existing reef & transfer all livestock into a temp 225 gallon on the floor. The new tank will go in the same spot as the old and new one delivered the next day.

Delivery day photos & one last photo of the reef before I did the tear down. :(

I'm interested in more information on the tank itself. Like the dimensions? Looks awesome. I'm trecking along for the build lol

Needless to say things have been crazy but here are some updates on the build. Things are going very well. The tank now has been set up for nearly 6 months.

Nice lid! That’s one of the safe top lids, right? It looks like it is actually two separate panels (or is that just a cross bar)? If they are separate, do they connect at all or just lie side by side?

I ordered these lids through Artfully Acrylic. They did an awesome job just a long quote time. They are two separate panels. Much easier to handle since my tank is 7 feet long. The two panels are broken into a 1/3rd panel and second as a 2/3rd panel. The lids lie on the inner ledge of the euro brace & just slide back & forth. They just sit side by side. No need to connect.

Thanks for the tip! Guess I know where I’m getting my lid from.
