I have Aptasia in my 160 gallon mixed reef, but this doesn’t look like any Aptasia I’ve seen before. What is this thing?
Thanks for all the wonderful information I’ve learned here over the months.

Never knew he had a mouthThat looks like his mouth is open. Unless you're asking about something else?
It's also his butt.Never knew he had a mouth
Learning every day. Thanks
I'm also not positive that's a Blasto though? Maybe a Trumpet or Candy Cane? CaulastreaNever knew he had a mouth

You’re probably right, thanks for the correction. The LFS just brings stuff sometimes, and I don’t always get the name right.I'm also not positive that's a Blasto though? Maybe a Trumpet or Candy Cane? Caulastrea
Appreciate it.Wasn't trying to correct you, just help make sure you understand what you have. Blastomussa and Caulastrea have different care requirements.
Look more like Micro Featherduster or Barnacles than Aiptasia but it's hard to say for certain. Can you turn off your blue lights and take a picture?Appreciate it.
Are these baby Aptasias?
No clue on this one.And final ID while we’re at it. What’s this little white, fluffy thing growing on the bottom of some rocks.
I know some people with that condition.Today I learned, Blastos have a mouth (that is also their butt)!
This is the best I could do (not sure if these videos are uploading). Just to the left of that central hole.Look more like Micro Featherduster or Barnacles than Aiptasia but it's hard to say for certain. Can you turn off your blue lights and take a picture?
Really hard to see but it sure looks like a feather duster. This is the best I could do (not sure if these videos are uploading). Just to the left of that central hole.
That's an Aptasia. We have many They haven't really gotten out of hand in the year+ they have been in the tank, so I don't worry about them too much..There is a hitching coral that blooms out like that at night. They really dont get any larger but am I mistaken that in your video theres an aptasia on the right?
They are.Really hard to see but it sure looks like a feather duster.
