What’s your favorite reefing topic to discuss?

That one topic that you could talk about or read about for a long time without getting bored.

Plumbing and Sumps.

So......Y'all DO realize just how geeky we sound, right? Now, I have an excuse. I was in Band in Elementary, Jr. High and High School. Not A band (the cool kind). Nope! .....Band. And Orchestra. And Stage Band. And Pep Band. And Marching Band. And Pit Band. Jeez, i grew up to wear a white coat behind a counter. Never had a chance!!

Aquaculture, oddball critters, and bioluminescence.
As I just read further into bioluminescence, I found this:

“Another possible reason bacteria use luminescence reaction is for quorum sensing, an ability to regulate gene expression in response to bacterial cell density.[3]

If you are going to get that deep, then include “coral holibiont”. And if we are doing quorum sensing, let’s include dna memory and ability to change in response to environment which is gene expression.

Getting the best colors and growth from acros. Especially slower growers like Tenuis and Speciosa, which both have lots of color development potential.
