What do you think is a good tank to sump ratio?

So, we've all heard that when it comes to sumps, the bigger, the better. However, I wonder what a standard sump size would be compared to the DT? What do you think would be a target ratio of sump to DT?

Not sure an exact ratio, it really depends on the plumbing to me. The minimum sump size for me is big enough to handle any backflow when pumps are shut off.

One that fits under the stand and allows a bit of extra room for dosing and a Trident. In my case, about 30 gallons total, but there's probably only 15 gallons of water in there.

This. Backflow, equipment, refuge area/frag area, etc. all can determine what size is right.
