Thanks that's insane. Guess my buddies got lucky with theirs. I'll be looking for new Heaters myself and definitely can't recommend those brs ones anymore. Thanks againJust a few examples, I don't think I would buy one unless they address the problem.

Plug two heaters into the heater outlet yes, as long as the two heaters combined power rating is within the power rating of the inkbird, just don't use the cooling outlet.for those of you that have the Inkbird ITC-308 (wifi not important)
i notice there are two outlet options. one outlet says heating, and the other cooling.
can you plug in two heaters to these outlets, ignoring the cooling? I have two 300w heaters that i'd like to use this controller for. but th "cooling" is throwing me off. what is the "cooling" outlet for? assuming an AC unit of some sort, ya?
Forgot to mention, you would use the cooling outlet for something like a fan blowing over the tank to cool using evaporation.for those of you that have the Inkbird ITC-308 (wifi not important)

@BeanAnimal that’s the first time I have seen that explanation for a tank heater. Maybe my brain is fried from today, but, is there a formula for how many BTUs/watts per pound of water to heat? My total system when fully running will be 600g, 375 display, 55 cryptic the rest is frag and sump. I screwed up and bought 3x 600w heaters, but I can return them. I like your other post too about using Eheims they have the thermostats on them. So that would create triple redundancy for me (Apex/Controller/hater therm). I thought about returning these 3 and getting the correct wattage across 2 heaters, but get 4. So, Apex/Controller 1/Heater 1&2 used Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Then, Apex/Controller 2/Heater 3&4 used Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday. I travel and if I had a controller failure I could remote in and update the functioning controllers days of operation. In the long run, this should also extend when I would need to physically change any of this. I really like that Ehiem idea, thanks for you guys mentioning that. Now just to figure out what heater wattage I need. I am a little concerned that I will have essentially 5 boxes of water (2 frag, display, cryptic (covered) and sump (covered) from a bank of heaters in the sump. I feel like all that surface area could cool the water down and force additional heating. The is 682 BTUs per hour of heat. You have a 40 gallon tank. So 30 gallons of water (even less with rock). But let's call it 50 with skimmer and sump and to make math easy.
50 gallons at 8.4 pounds per - is 420 pounds of water.
Your heaters should be able to maintain 1.6 degrees per hour of temperature drop... if we take your real volume into account likely closer to 2.5 - 3 degrees per hour.
Is your tank in an an unheated room?
