I saw a 6-7 inch maroon in a restaurant reef tank yesterday and I didn’t realize they could get that big. The male was around 3 inches though. I would want a designer Picasso or a snowflake that can get that big.

I thought it only did nitrates and phosphates and did not also include alkalinity, calcium and magnesium. That’s the one I’m holding out for!

Yeah, I’ve seen that one called a blue lightning clownfish, and it is fake. There are real clowns with some blue coloration though, and I believe people are trying to breed them to produce fully blue clowns:

That happens on occasion with clowns of a variety of species - I haven’t looked into the cause much yet, but my understanding is that the blue is dark pigmentation under the white scales (and it may change some with age).

To my knowledge, it’s still relatively uncommon, but people have been working to purposely breed blue into clowns for a few years now
