Tank is a couple months old, nothing new added. Parameters are fine, and only new addition in the last couple weeks is adding a power head. We woke up this morning and noticed this on all sides of the tank and nothing we can think of comes up in a search. We’re still pretty knew to the weird wonders of salt water, I thought maybe part of the “ugly phase” but our other aquarium did not experience this.

stock contents:
1 blue chromis
1 Diamond goby
1 striped dottyback

1 pulsating Xenia
1 Kenya tree
1 zoas
1 hammer

No hitch hikers were found after adding any corals and no other oddities in the tank.
Thank you for any help in advance!

Some sort of biofilm, bacteria, algae build up. I get this also. Scrape it off with the magnet cleaner and make sure to change your filter socks a few hours later or they’ll get clogged.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
