Hi there I use a Foscam just like this one: Foscam FI8910W Wireless IP Camera (White) FI8910W-W B&H Photo
I place it in front of the tank and close enough to where I can pan and tilt to see the tank and the sump and top off area. I can also spin it around and see the cat if I need too! This camera has saved me on a couple different occasions already. Another great thing is that it is wireless and you can use your smart phone or devices to control it and view the feed.
0.3MP CMOS Sensor
640 x 480 Resolution
Glass IR 3.6mm f/2.4 Lens
11 IR LEDs
Night Vision Up To 26.2'
300° Pan, 120° Tilt
10 / 100 Mbps RJ - 45 Ethernet
IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless
Motion Detection With Email Notification
Works With iPhone, Android, Blackberry
