Hi there I use a Foscam just like this one: Foscam FI8910W Wireless IP Camera (White) FI8910W-W B&H Photo

I place it in front of the tank and close enough to where I can pan and tilt to see the tank and the sump and top off area. :D I can also spin it around and see the cat if I need too! :) This camera has saved me on a couple different occasions already. Another great thing is that it is wireless and you can use your smart phone or devices to control it and view the feed.

I just attach mine to a tripod when I go out of town and place it right in front of the tank. :)

With the foscams you have control to go up and down and rotate, so I can see the display then go down to the sump to see whats going on...

Well my sump is under the tank and it has cabinet doors, so unless I left the doors open, I wouldn't be able to see the sump =/

Haha, you're right i'm used to my setup! I have magnet attached doors and I usually just leave them off since i'm always messing with something underneath the tank, so I usually always have a view to the sump area...

I was wondering if I was the only one that did this lol. I also use a foscam with an IP cam viewer app on my android phone. Great for when you're bored at work!

I'm using a Foscam FI8918W, a Dericam M801w, and a Tenvis mini319w. The Foscam has pan/tilt and the Dericam has pan/tilt/zoom. Meanwhile, the Tenvis is a fixed camera. Of the three, the Dericam is the best for this application by far. The zoom feature (3x optical) is great and it is the only camera out of the three that can adjust the white balance accurately. The Foscam & Tenvis are extremely blue and don't even come close to portraying realistic colors.

I've been using two panasonics, BL-C131A but I've been looking for ones that are wireless, remote pan/tilt/zoom, and here's the kicker- better than 640x480 video.

We're in the middle of setting up our new tank / fish room, but here's my current camera page (pointed at an empty tank.)
