I added a nice size peppermint shrimp to my tank about two months ago. It was doing a great job eating my aiptasia. Last week it disappeared, and I haven't seen him since. No trace. Would a Starry Blenny eat a shrimp? It is the only thing in my tank that is big enough. I would have thought that there would be some shell remnants left behind, something.

Probably died and was consumed by the tank. That’s what happens.
Circle of life and all.

They are good at hiding, especially when they Molt, and if there is a danger to them. My Peppermint is mostly nocturnal.

I’ve added dozens never to see them again till months later when rearranging…
Also some fish don’t recognize them for any cleaning value and will consume… My marine bettas won’t bother Blood reds or skunks but will chow down on peppermints…
the shrimp probably already know this
