I'm using a 29 gallon Aqueon standard tank with Eclipse S overflow box to drain to my 10 gallon sump and a 1" bulkhead from bulk reef supply for my return from my pump. The return bulkhead is internally threaded and I'm going to use a npt connector to adapt to loc-line y fitting that goes to two 3/4" loc-line modular hoses so i can position those for flow.

What's the best positioning for the overflow box and bulkhead for return? Should the overflow be in the top middle of the tank or to one side? And, where is the best positioning for the return? I would like to use the return from the pump for circulation, but if that won't provide enough circulation I can get a wave maker.

Thanks in advance!
