I have been looking for the GE 6500k T5 bulb to use in my 36" ATI fixture. I have seen others such as Coral Euphoria implement it and I would like to give it a try. However I cannot seem to find it available anywhere. I have spent hours just searching for a place to buy this bulb but come up empty handed. Does anyone else know where I could find one?
Would other 6500k bulbs be just as effective as the GE brand?
Thank You

Reef Brite makes a 6700K bulb. Pretty similar. Premium aquatics.
Geissman makes a 6000K bulb. That's as close as I know about.
Reef Brite are fine bulbs.

Osram/Sylvania 965's are another option.
Code is, first digit is CRI, second 2 K temp.
So 90 cri 6500k, 865's should be easier to find.
OR something like this..

OK, I believe the "sunlite" brand may be re-badged Osram lights.
Why? Uses the same type of code letters.. so maybe?
Then maybe not..
GE Starcoat catalog listing for t5ho
46748.... F39W/T5/865/ECO

865.... 80 cri 6500K
Certainly priced ok.

Bulbs like the Geisseman "midday" are 6500k-like but sort of "enhanced" and as such 4x the cost of the sunlite brand.

These might be harder to find since they are general purpose lights, which are being phased out. If you do find some, then get a case. I got a case a few years ago and they were like $3-4 a bulb.

Thanks for all the different options. I do believe that I found the actual GE 6500k light though.

Not sure if this is a reputable site to order from though... Any thoughts on this. If this doesn't work I will probably use the Sunlite 30439 from bulbs 2 u.
Depends .. if you want 5 or 10...
Oddly lists GE as Osram.....
So we got GE/Osram/Sylvania as the same bulb by inference.

Pretty sure you can throw Sunlite in there.

Also pretty sure any "865" bulb will be fairly equivalent.

But.. it is an assumption.

Web site "looks" fine...I'd not be surprised at high shipping costs though.

OH...
Discontinued replaced with Osram F39W-T5-865
GE 4ft are still in stock, not the 3ft.
