It's also helpful to get pods from someone like Dinkins, K&P, Algae Barn, Jay's Reef Bugs, etc... and get the multi-species blends. That way you're adding 4-8 different types of pods at once and chances are good that at least a few types will take root and establish good populations. Unless you're just dumping them in for Mandarin food, always try to add the most diversity you can.

I'd also suggest getting a live phyto blend from whoever you get your pods from. For the same reasons as adding multiple species of pods, feed multiple kinds of phyto,

I was loosing Amphipods from my Filter Socks catching them. I purchased some snap in plastic grommets, so they could escape. Based on when they needed cleaning, they still filter. About two weeks later, I noticed an explosion of Copepods on the glass, first thing in the morning. Could you put a small hole in your filter media?

As others have stated Tigs are stand alone feed only they are very popular at LFS
