Why is my torch ‘stem tissue’ so puffy?

It has closed before, looks much different than this. The white tissue was way puffed out, 3x its typical 'on the skeleton' size. It has recovered and is back to normal. Best i can figure is it was getting too much flow, or my reef snow earlier in the day caused a reaction (no other torches reacted like this, though).
