Will a Red Sea Reefmat 1500 fit in a 8" Filter sock hole?

I have a tideline pvc sump that has 2 8" filter sock holders built-in. I'm wondering if I can just hang the 1500 on one of the filter sock holes? Anyone try this? I really don't want to have to Dremel or modify my sump.

Thanks, I saw the dimensions, but I didn't know if the bottom part trimmed down enough to fit. They don't really specify
