I'm at the tail end of my battle
The 3 things that helped me the most:
1) uv sterilizer
2) increase nutrients( stop doing water changes)
3) vacuum as much out as possible

Every week( it's a long battle) less and less grows back.

I don't like to add anything to my tank(chemicals) unless I really have to--at this point I've added nothing except trace elements to make up for those lost( remember I'm not replacing those lost by doing water change.

Killed mine with these steps:

1. Manual siphon as much as possible.
2. Added pods to fuge
3. Added fritz turbo start 900
4. Added coraline algae in a bottle
5. Tank black out for 48 hours
6. Did a 50% wc at the end of black out to ride the dead dinos that can also be toxic to livestock.

Dead now for 2 months and no sign of returning. I kept low nutrient still due to sps acros. Feed every 2 days.

@Txplicit, do you know what kind of dinoflagellates you had, by chance?
