Wireing a workhorse 8 ballast to double T5 HO sockets

Does anyone know how to wire a t5 ho double socket to a workhorse 8 ballast?

First off I don't believe a Workhorse 8 is the correct ballast for a two bulb T5 HO fixture. Dependent on the length of the bulbs, I believe it's a 5 or 7. I know I ran a Workhorse 5 when I was running two, approximately four foot bulbs (54W).

I want to run 8 - 39w bulbs with 2 workhorse 8s. The sockets are doubles. I want to run 4 -39w bulbs in the center of the tank, and run 4-39w on the front and back of the tank. But im wondering if the double sockets are connected together inside as one ,or can they be run independly?

Def refer the Fulham site for diagrams and to make sure you are running the correct amount of bulbs for that ballast. the site has very nice diagrams to follow.

With that socket they can be connected separately. Look at the bottom of the socket. There are 4 connectors, 2 going each way. Just push the correct wires to each side (ground, power to each side) and it will be good to go

According to THIS Fulham wiring diagram, you can run five 39W T5's with a Workhorse 8. If you only run four, and it works, that will overdrive the bulbs and shorten the life of the bulb.

I would consider using 2 workhorse 7 to power 8 39w t5's

I have 4 workhorse 8s and 2 workhorse 3s. Isn't that the same thing that icecap 660 does is overdrive the bulbs to?

Yes it pushes them
