Guy near me is selling a 120g tank. Has never been used, but the center brace broke in shipping.

I'm thinking of offering $50 and use it as a sump in my next build.

What do you think?

if you know what brand it is you should be able to get a replacement top brace for the tank. If your handy with diy it isn't that hard.

If you are adding multiple internal baffles that are sealed to the walls with silicone, it will most likely accomplish the same purpose as the brace and be even stronger. Depends on the number and location, but I doubt that it would need to replace the brace.

Its worth it for $50. If you're going to use it for a sump i wouldn't replace the top. Your baffles should provide enough strength.

Just saw the post above, what he said.

You could literally mechanically affix any corrosion resistant rigid material across the center to act as the missing brace.

For $50 I'd scoop it up in a heartbeat :)
