I came in this morning to see a large wound on my foxface rabbitfish. There was no sign of this yesterday evening.

Sorry the pic is a bit blue, the light are just coming up. Here is a video clip:

This is the largest fish in the tank by far. It's tank mates are the Tomini Tang you see in the video, two clowns, a tiny green spotted puffer that is only about 1.5" long, a yellow watchman goby, and a tiger pistol shrimp.

No new additions to the tank in 6 weeks, and no new fish in over 2 months.

I'm assuming it is an injury as opposed to disease since it showed up so suddenly, but wanted to get a more informed opinion.

ry and possible tail strike from a tand
Should heal on its own but keep an eye on it for improvement
If it becomes red or sore, treatment will be seachem kanaplex in a separate tank

I was hoping that is the case. These two hang around each other a lot, and don't seem to be bothered by the other's company, but they do occasionally shove each other around a bit.

Seems like there have been a lot of these types of injuries in fox faces lately

Just following up for the benefit of people with the same issue in the future: The would seems to be much better after a couple of days. This isn't a great pic, but the "Wascally wabbit" wouldn't sit still:
