Wy dont P04 and nitrate go up after dosing

I started dosing brightwells neophos and neonitro because very low 0.01 p04 and 2ppm nitrate" 3 days dosing know and both have gone to 0 ppm

don't this stuff work ?

should I just continue till goes up to whot id like?

It'll take time. When I had zero PO4, I had to dose for about 2 weeks while turning off skimmer, feeding heavy including nori before my PO4 finally increased. Just make sure to test often and stop dosing as soon as tank reaches desired level or else u'll end up dealing with opposite problem of trying to reduce levels.

tank was not 0ppm nitrate but since did 3 dose of po4 and n03 its dropped nitrate even more!
Are you dosing to whot says on bottle buddy?

It was a yr ago when I had zero PO4 issue, no longer. Used Seachem Flourish following its instruction. Do u use chaeto or any macro algae in refugium?

upped dose last time from 15ml to 20ml of phosphate and got 1st reading of 0.01 24 hour after"

not looked few hours after dosing mate

It is important to look as soon as it has just enough time to mix because PO4 can be sucked up quickly by aragonite, and that would mask the real concentration when you first dose.

If you are looking to up your nitrate reagent grade dry sodium nitrate has worked great for me. Cheap too compared to reef supplements. Just buy a gram scale to measure it out and calculate for what you want.

Just checked po4 after dosing 20ml again for 2nd time and from 0.01 its gone to 0.07 ppm know" should I just not dose again today and test again in 24 hours to see how much has gone/used ? then top up if needed

skimmer has been off for 2 days know" should I leave off for few more days

Is the 0.07 ppm reading close to what you expecting to see? If it is then you have confirmed that you are adding the amount of PO4 you want. And yes, wait 24 hours to confirm that the system is still soaking up PO4.

Skimmers typically do not remove PO4. I don’t see any reason to leave it off.
