Yesterday morning I noticed this on my yellow tang. The other 9 fish are not showing any sign of illness. I have captured the tang and she is now in a new quarantine 5 1/2 gallon tank. I only put in a small filter and a heater and something for her to hide in, no substate. Please let me know what you think this is and how to treat it. Also, will I have to treat the whole DT? Thanks in advance!

Red sores like that are best treated with NFG. If can't find/obtain, the trifecta of Kanaplex + Furan2 + Metro works as good but not as fast acting as NFG. You need to treat those types of red sores as soon as possible. They can go sideways very quickly on tangs.

Thanks but is it NFG or NFP? I seem to only see NFP on Ebay. Also, what do you think it is?

Update: The yellow wounds seem to be improving. I mixed Kanaplex, Focus, Garlic Guard in some pellets and have been feeding it twice a day. The tang in eating it and seems to be improving. I also add Metroplex to the water every other day.

Great news! The yellow tang has made a full recovery and is back in the DT! The Scopas tang picked on her for a short while but now all three tangs (3rd is a Blue Tang) are living in harmony again! I highly recommend the three medicines I used to treat her. It took approximately 3 weeks to completely clear up.
