hello all, recently picked up a yellow wrasse from wwc. Now I made sure he ate when I was at the store and look to be doing well. He his for about 2 days and finally came out of hiding I noticed him swimming around picking at things in the tank. Today I notice he is only towards the bottom and not as active, I am yet to see him eat in the tank. It has been since Thursday that I know of. I notice a small white blemish on his body as well today can’t recall swing that should I be worried?

It could be a few different things:

Bacterial infection
Possible Uronema
Just an injury from being new to the tank and not having the rock work figured out yet.

Picture isn't clear enough for me to be certain of exactly what it is you are dealing with.

I don’t want to sound “doomsday” here... but, I would keep a close eye on it. Maybe consider setting up a QT, just in case.

I’ve seen a few cases of uronema on yellow wrasses here recently, starting as white abrasions on the side before developing the trademark red sores.

What can be done to treat it?

Could just be something bacterial as well, if you have a small hospital tank you could move him over and treat him, And then just observe the others and see what happens?
