Grrr. So I added my flame angel to my DT after 30 days in Qt last night. Today he has two white spots that look more like parasites than ick. I cannot catch this little bugger to put him back in QT. Any thoughts? Hope the rest of fish are not doomed.

If he has a parasite, everyone does.

We will need photos. Sorry for the bad luck, what was the angel treated with in qt?

He was treated with prazipro and paraguard in QT. If I can’t catch him how do I treat the entire reef tank?

If he has ich or velvet, treatments are not reef safe. You would have to move all fish to a QT and treat with copper or CP. Then allow DT to be fallow (fishless) for 76 days.

Pics would be very helpful. If it's flukes you can treat in DT possibly.

It could also be lympho which wouldn't require treatment.

Update: so the next morning they were completely gone. In past few days everyone looks fine with no signs anywhere. Breathing a sigh or relief, for now.

Can you post a pic?

If it's ich/velvet you will need CP or copper.

I feel your pain. My hippo has ick and my coral beauty. I am unable to rip all my fish out of my 125 gallon tank. I dont have a quarintine big enough. I am going to feed well and hope for the best. If you are sure it is ick, you can live with it or take them all out. I think alot of people with blue tangs tend to live with it.They always seem to get it.I did quarantine all my fish and still got it. If it's velvet , you have no choice but to take them out. Good luck.

That s is the best photo I could get. I can’t take them all out of the tank. I only have a few corals so my fish are my priority. Any thoughts? So sad.

Any reef safe meds I can dose? I have meds to mix with my food arriving tomorrow.

Picture is messing with me a little. Spots on BHT appear to be ich. Spots on Kole resemble velvet. Either way you certainly have one or the other/ or both.

Copper is going to be best route. Probably quickest and easily obtained as well. BHT won't tolerate CP.

Are you setting up a QT?
