You need to check out FixReef on YouTube. He has videos showing how to fix the equipment we use on our aquariums.
My Apex Neptune powerbar stopped switching the 8 outlets on. It turns out the 12 volt power supply that powers the relays that turn those outlets on/off goes bad. It’s because they were made with extremely cheap capacitors and it’s a very common problem. FixReef shows you set by step, from beginning to end, how to replace those four capacitors.
And he shows how to fix other stuff too….it’s a great resource.
In the picture you can see the little power supply board I’m talking about.

Update: The new capacitors were delivered today. It took me about an hour and a half to replace them. It is tedious work but not too hard.
Anyway my power bar works again! So a big thank you to FixReef. His sharing of knowledge saved me $300.

Alex from Fixreef also saved me by fixing my Kessil A360x that was out of warranty. Such a tremendous help to our community.

That’s great. It’s nice to repair our own stuff. Especially when everything in this hobby is so expensive.
I’ve always been a diy person. And my tools have paid for themselves many times over.
