A couple of weeks ago I heard water leaking in my laundry room and it turned out that it was my plastic hose adapter that had broken. I couldn't find another at my hardware store so I hooked up the RO/DI to the water heater line. I'm not sure why but it is running extremely slow, yielding only about 20 gpd as opposed to the 100 gpd it is supposed to give. All filters and membrane were recently changed so the only thing I could figure is that the water heater line doesn't have as much pressure as the laundry hook up so I went on a search for a plastic dual hose adapter. Turns out they have been discontinued, so the only thing that was available to me was one made out of zinc. I did some preliminary searching online but couldn't find anything that would tell me if this is safe to use. For reference, my tank evaporates around 10 gal per week.
