A couple pics of my zoa rock starting to grow toward the connected rock where my SPS frags are growing. Should I be concerned about the zoas taking over the SPS?

It can and you either want to relocate them or trim them back

Not 100%, but the Z&P nearly always win and cause the SPS to recede and die at worst and just not grow at best. You are going to need to choose. You can kill back the Z&P with kalk paste which then takes them months to regrow, if you choose this route.

I've never used that. How does it work? Can it be applied in the tank?

Just google kalk paste and reef. You mix kalkwasser in water into a paste and then use a syringe to cover up things that you want dead after you turn the pumps off. You leave the pumps off for a few hours (return pump is fine) and the super high pH kills most things. Some things need multiple applications. It is easy, but you just don't want to use any more than necessary or to have it mix up in the tank water before it does it's job.
