Does anyone with actual experience understand the needs of rhodactis vs discosoma? Just curious because all rhodactis seem to do very well in my tank but discosoma not so much. Discos tend to slowly fade away. And no I don’t know my parameters as I never test but I am curious if anyone has any knowledge of the needs that differ between the two. Thanks.

Actinodiscsoma tend to want lower light levels than Rhodactis. They don't like being to close either so biological/chemical warfare is a possibilty.

I have my lights at 100% intensity so maybe that is a factor. Would you suggest running carbon to fight the chemical warfare? Thanks

I really want to be successful with jawbreaker mushrooms

Your best chance of success will be to get with the grower you're sourcing and duplicate thier conditions.

Running carbon for a month or so should tell you one way or the other if it will help long term. Seems like a PAR meter might help some too.
