Orange - Maybe sponges ?

Good Evening all - Thanks for the mushroom ID yesterday- When I got this colony I could not see everything as the mushrooms cover all of the rubble during the day - but as they recede a little at night I can see this orange material on the rocks - when looking close it looks like it is a sponge type material under the mushrooms- I am not concerned by it just curious as to what it may be

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hard to tell in the pics but I have huge orange sponges on my rocks under corals like zoas they even have tentacles. Hasn't been an issue though.
 

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
