Hey All ..

So recently I made the mistake of over dosing spectraside stump remover.

* WAS running an ULNS and had some sps corals that were struggling. 155 gallon total system
* Over dosed stump remover
* Now nitrates are sky high ... near 100!
* Trying to bring it down but thought to use NOPOX to help with this, as I would have to do massive massive water change to bring the levels down

I am wondering if anyone may be able to point me in the right direction for some advice and cautions with this product, as I have heard you have to be VERY careful with this product, as if you do not use it right it can be devastating to your system.

I used about 80% of a bottle about 2 years ago and then I had to leave for a few months for work so I discontinued (had a freidn doing general and basic maintence on tank while Iwas gone)

Thanks!

I'd think "massive water changes" might be much more effective than NOPOX.

If you want it down quickly, a large water change will probably work better for you in this situation, as the nitrates are originating in the overdose of Spectracide. No3Po4-X is food for bacteria, which take up nitrates and then get skimmed out. It takes longer to work (assuming there are those phosphates TJ mentioned, as well).

Agree with above recommendations........no nopox.

Start with water changes......and I'd suggest no more than 50 percent at a time.
