Reefing threads: Do you wear gear from reef brands?

Some dry fit fishing shirts or scuba gear like mask straps from my favorite reef brands would be nice.

I have a closet full. No dry equipment brands. Just general suppliers, local livestock vendors, and my own “brand”.

Only Reed gear I have is r2r ball caps and I wear them a lot. Really like the design.

Maybe in the future I'll call my company Got Frag? Since it would make a great T-shirt and I know reefers would gladly advertise for free

most of my T shirts were free (Chevrolet gives them away at NASCAR races)...but no one's exactly been handing out free shirts at coral shows...the only ones I pay for at this point are Guy Harvey shirts

Happy to wear reef-related gear. But I have to get that gear for free.

If the vendor is getting free advertising by my wearing their gear, they should pay for the advertisement.

Thank you for all of the responses! It seems like there is several groups - (1) I'll gladly wear reef brands, (2) I'll wear reef brands if the gear is free, and (3) I'll only wear it if they pay me. What I don't remember seeing (but expected from some reef keepers), I'll wear it around the house (yard work, water changes, sleeping, etc.), but not out in public.

The one message that I would share with any vendors reading this post is that if you are going to spend your advertising dollars on gear, then make sure it is comfortable gear. Being stylish helps, but if it isn't comfortable then I'm probably not wearing it. If it is comfortable and fits well then I am probably wearing somewhere.

All the time but gear and swag is literally my job. I gladly represent those that trusted me for their gear. Not to mention I won’t sell anything I can’t stand behind so wearing it and trying to ruin it is part of my life.

BTW - anyone who thinks they are a billboard for reefing companies is sorely mistaken. 99.9% of people walking around you have no clue who the brand is you’re wearing. Yet, you’ll gladly walk around with white dongles in your ears, the brand new triple camera phone, and leave your car badged and advertise for billion $$$ companies instead
