advice needed

In a couple weeks we are setting up what we call our "predator" tank. Weve had a snowflake eel for a couple years and are going to move it up to a new 75 gal. No corals, fish only. I wanted some ideas on "pals" for our notorious fish gobbler.

So this Black Friday I purchased a Nuvo 10 for about $50(Aquacave rocks!) and I want to transfer everything from my Nuvo 8. I just don't know if the process would go smoothly if I carefully transfer the sand without much stirring or ditch it all together.
