Much appreciated my friend! Yeah, I've been pretty much saw your tank and told myself, that was the reefing experience I wanted to have. There wasn't one hint of gatekeepeing or reluctance to share his vast knowledge. When you sent me those side by side pics the other day, I couldn't believe it! I'm telling you. It would not be the case without you, my friend. The Smorgasbord welcomes you, and are lucky to add another top level reefer to our fold.Little known fact, we’re such good buds we even have a theme song.
“Love is an open door”
Sorry if I embarassed you. We shouldn’t have to hide the magic we have!
King Ranch was a new member with an inadequate lighting setup, a brand new tank, and a passion to have a blue light special - a glowy neon tank, and he stood out to me right away.
I reached out to him and gave him advice, guidance, and offered lessons learned based on all my years of keeping reef tanks. What I liked, is that he listens, retains, and applies! And, he’s just a great guy that stands out to me from anyone else in my life.
Working together on coral selection, care, placement, and general tank tips, you would never guess he’s in his first year Reefing. I’m proud of his tank, his progress, and to have gained his friendship.
I made this for him the other day as a reminder of his progress and to let him know I’m truly proud - this tank has a great foundation, excellent coral selection, and is on track to grow into something that people with years more of experience would be envious of.
LFS with a foxface i brought home!Looks like rope sponge with a shriveled up Kenya tree inside it
Where did it come from
Then Kenya Tree.It does kind of look like a Kenya trees though. Not like an encrusting coral like gsp.
Yeah, I thought it did the trick, I didn't see anything for a while. Then exactly where the big aiptasia was, there were about 8 or 10 very small ones. They've covered that little area now. I wish aiptasia glowed in the dark.Really? That's the only way that ever worked for me. I've kalked them, lemon juices them, and Aiptasia-X. Boiling water, Peppermint Shrimp, and Berghia worked. Also Tasseled Filefish but they don't seem to eradicate the aiptasia before they get a taste for coral.
I've had Kenya trees before. Up to youAlso, this codium has all kinds of life in it that i would like, does codium grow to plague like proportions or is it probably fine to add? I have a foxface now so probably would eat it anyways?
It's also based on a true story lolWhat a lovely story of friendship built through this amazing addiction... I mean hobby...
